Paris Destination Guide

Fly Direct to Paris

Get your city break to Paris off to a perfect start and enjoy close airport parking with short walks to the terminal. You’ll also be pleasantly surprised by the relaxed atmosphere at Shannon - no congestion and no hassle guaranteed!

Only two hours’ flight from Shannon, this must-visit destination is known far and wide as the European epicenter of culture, fashion and style. Its beautiful boulevards and world-famous sights are ready and waiting for you.

Getting Around

Charles De Gaulle Airport is about 30km from the city centre, and you’ll have a few transport options to choose from to get close to where it’s all at. A regional train will take about 50 minutes to get to the city centre but costs only €10. A bus takes a bit longer and is around the same price, while you can expect a taxi to set you back around €60.

Savour the sights

The hardest part of your trip to Paris might be deciding where to start! For unique views of this incredible city, a boat cruise along the Seine can offer so much. Whether taken by day or by night, you can sit back and enjoy the wonders of this bustling metropolis from the comfort of a glass canopy boat...taking in sights like the Eiffel Tower to the Musée d'Orsay, and more.

When you get back on dry land, track back to the amazing Musee d'Orsay and enjoy the impressionist masterpieces from notable painters like Cézanne, Degas, and Monet. The Louvre gallery is also a must-see for art-lovers where you can witness
firsthand the mesmeric gaze of Mona Lisa for yourself.

More history

For history buffs, the Place de la Bastille is where the Bastille prison stood until it was stormed during the Frenshc Revolution in the late 1700s. And while you might know the Champs-Élysées more as the finishing line for the world’s biggest cycle race, the
Tour de France, this street is famed for its theatres, cafés, luxury shops, and the annual Bastille parade. You’ll find it running between the Place de la Concorde and the Place Charles de Gaulle, where the Arc de Triomphe is located. Read More
