When you land
As most people go to the island as part of a package, transport to and from the airport will more than likely be included in the price of your trip. If travelling independently, you can expect to pay less than €2 for a bus to the capital Arrecife. Taxis are plentiful too, not overly expensive and are a good way to get around.
Exploring Lanzarote
Arrecife is home to around one-third of the island’s inhabitants while Puerto del Carmen (the island’s oldest resort), Playa Blanca (a relaxed, tranquil harbour town), and Costa Teguise (which has been a popular holiday spot since the ‘70s) are the most popular resorts for visitors and tourists.
Eating Out
Even though you’ll find a wide range of restaurants from several cuisines, Lanzarote has some many wonderful local dishes which must be tried. Traditional Spanish dishes commonly available include paella (a saffron rice and fish dish) merienda (primarily a bread meal with optional cheese, chocolate or meat) and many tapas options too.
Attractions & Activities
With spotless, pristine beaches on all sides, enjoying the golden sands and clear seas is simply a must. And when you add in the great nightlife and the island’s volcanic mountains, you can see there’s something for everything.
