Do I need to arrive at Shannon Airport earlier than usual ahead of my flight? 
We are advising all passengers to arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before your flight. Please check the status of your flight directly with your airline before travelling to the airport.  

Are there temperature checks at the airport? 
The HPSC, which is part of the Health Service Executive (HSE), says temperature checks are not an appropriate control measure for Ireland at this time. Irish health officials note that this type of airport screening is not recommended by either the World Health Organization or by European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.

All arriving passengers are required to complete a Passenger Locator Form. The government has updated this to include an option for travellers to indicate the basis on which they may be claiming an exemption. Passengers must provide documentary evidence to demonstrate their exemption.

How often are public areas cleaned at Shannon Airport? 
The public areas of the terminal and the screening checkpoint have a daily cleaning schedule where the floors and tables and work surfaces are washed and disinfected. In addition, the trays are sanitised by a certified product which is active for 30 days. The sanitisation programme is repeated every 21 days and the trays are rotated. There are also handheld UV units used for additional sanitising. 

Where can I find hand sanitizing stations in Shannon Airport? 
When travelling through Shannon Airport, you will find hand washing facilities in our bathrooms, located at our check-in and arrivals hall as well as our transit lounge and after U.S. C.B.P. We also provide a number of sanitation stations across the airport including frontline locations such as the Information Desk, airport police desk, passport control and passenger screening. These units are regularly checked throughout the day but if you do find one empty, we would be grateful if you could notify a staff member so we can refill it.  

What measures are in place to protect passengers and staff?
The safety of all our passengers, crew and staff is paramount.   The HPSC, which is part of the Health Service Executive (HSE), sets the public health guidelines on how to deal with contagious diseases.  We are continuing to follow all of the  HPSC’s guidelines  as well as implementing new safety measures across the airport. We have installed over 4,000 pieces of COVID-19 signage across the terminal building. Multiple sanitiser dispensers, special hand sanitation stations and disinfectant wipes are located throughout the airport starting at the entry doors. Can I still check-in at the airport? 
Please check-in online via your airline’s website or mobile app before you arrive at the airport, if possible. Glass separation screens have been installed at all airline check-in desks for passengers who need to check-in at the airport. 

Will my flight be affected? 
Our advice is to contact your airline directly before travelling to the airport. Your airline will have the most up-to-date information about their schedule. You can find contact details for our airline partners here

How will security screening work? 
You will enter a socially distanced queue management system in advance of the boarding card check. Once your boarding card is scanned and electronically verified, you will go through to screening.  Place all your items such as keys, coins, mobile phone and any metal items on you in the tray. All tablets and laptops will go into a separate tray while any liquids of 100mls or less should be presented in a ziplocked transparent bag (1 per passenger) of 1 litre capacity.  Shoes should also be removed for separate screening.  Our trays are sanitised with certified disinfectant and will be further sanitised by a handheld UV wand prior to and after use.  

Once you have passed through the walk-through metal detector and gather your personal items from the tray, please use the hand sanitisers provided as you exit security.  

How will I be screened safely, if I beep through the metal detector
All our security staff are required to wear face coverings and gloves. If you cause the metal detector to alarm, you will be asked to step into a security scanner for secondary screening. In the event of any alarm, at this point, the process is a targeted search of the alarm area. Most alarms will be resolved without the need to touch an area of the body.  

What sanitation measures are in place in the bathrooms/ baby changing / baby feeding rooms?  
Our bathrooms are regularly cleaned throughout the day by our trained staff. For your safety, we also provide disinfectant spray, handwipes and disposable gloves for use in these facilities. 

I need assistance, is this still available under Covid-19 health and safety measures? 
Yes, we are here to help in any way we can and continue to offer passenger assistance at this time. If you’re a passenger with reduced mobility or from the older community, we want to make your journey as easy and as safe as possible.

I am being collected/ dropped at the airport. Are visitors allowed in the terminal?  
Shannon Airport has always been about those warm welcomes and we understand how important it is to say goodbye or welcome loved ones. During these extraordinary circumstances, we will only be allowing travelling passengers, crew members and staff through the airport terminal. However, we do provide 15 minutes Free Parking in our Short Stay car park for those who wish to share those airport moments with family.  

How can I dispose of my face coverings in the airport? 
Please use our no-touch bins provided. We kindly ask all passengers to be mindful of each other.  

Do you sell face coverings at the airport? 
We encourage all passengers to bring their own face covering when travelling through the airport. However, should you need to purchase a face covering at the airport, they can be purchased from our facemask vending machines.  

Do I have to wear a face coverings? 
We are asking everyone who enters to airport to wear a face covering from the moment they enter the terminal building. There are a number of no-touch bins located across the terminal building for safe disposal of used face coverings. Passengers are also advised to bring a clear bag to place used face coverings in for disposal or laundering.  

Who is exempt from wearing a face covering? 
Exemptions from wearing a face covering can be made for certain situations such as during security checks and border control. People with medical reasons for not wearing a face covering as well as children under 13 years of age, can also be exempt.  

My flight has been cancelled; can I change my parking booking?  If you have a parking booking for our Shannon Short Stay, Long Stay or Park4Less Car Parks, you can Manage Your Booking by amending or cancelling your stay here.

Where can I use contactless payment? 
All our pay points across the airport support contactless payment. Please to use contactless payment where possible.   

Are shops and restaurants open as usual? 
Our restaurants and shops are open on reduced trading hours, prioritised around the departing flight schedule of each day.

Can I still use the Boru or another departure lounge?
We have closed our departure lounges for the duration of 2021 in the interest of health and saftey for our passengers and staff.
