Lost Property

Losing a bag or personal item while travelling can be a difficult and irritating experience. We have made it easy for you to track down your lost items here...

Lost an item on board the aircraft?

Shannon Airport does not process or have access to information about any item left on aircraft or baggage lost by airlines. Shannon Airport advises you to contact your Airline or Handling Agent directly regarding left/lost luggage queries and their luggage reclaim procedure. Find your airline contact details here.

Lost an item at the airport?

If you have lost an item within the airport terminal, you should go straight to the Lost Property service at the Customer Service desk, which you will find in the Check In Hall.

A valid photo ID in the form of a current passport or driving licence will be required for inspection by the Lost Property service when collecting lost property.

Lost Property Charges

If you collect the item from the Lost Property service at the Customer Service desk at the airport, a standard administration fee of €5.00 will apply. If it is better for you however, we can post it out to you subject to identification being verified, but an administration fee of €5.00 and postage costs will apply.

Retention Period for Lost Property

Items of lost property found at Shannon Airport will be retained for a period of 90 days after which time the property will be disposed of in the following manner:
  • Any unclaimed property of value which does not contain personal data is sold and all proceeds are donated to Shannon Airport’s charity of choice (the “Airport’s Charity”).
  • Any cash is donated to the Airport’s Charity.
  • Any property which may contain personal data (for example laptops, tablets and phones) is sanitised and donated to the Airport’s Charity.
