Smoking policy

Shannon Airport is a smoke-free airport in line with the Public Health (Tobacco) Acts 2002 and 2004 which prohibits smoking in enclosed workplaces and the Shannon Airport Bye-Laws 2015 (S.I. No. 69/2015)

Smoking is permitted in designated areas outside the front of the terminal building and in a specially provided location adjacent to the airport transit lounge/departure area.

Electronic cigarettes & vaporisers

Passengers are not permitted to use electronic cigarettes or vaporisers within the airport premises.

Bringing e-cigarettes or vaporisers in your hand luggage is not considered an issue provided you adhere to general security rules particularly in respect of not carrying liquid containers larger than 100ml through security. You will be required to place any e-liquid containers inside a clear plastic bag for inspection purposes.

Please note:    Using e-cigarettes or vaporisers on board aircraft is not permitted by any airline.
