Spanish Sunshine as Ryanair's Inaugural Flight to Alicante Takes Off
05 June 2013
Ryanair, Europe’s only ultra-low cost carrier today 5th June celebrated its inaugural flight from Shannon to Alicante on Spain’s Costa Blanca. This new route will operate twice weekly on Wednesdays and Fridays giving passengers in the South West more choice than ever when travelling to Spain.
To celebrate our new Shannon-Alicante route, Ryanair is launching a seat sale with 100,000 seats available across our entire European route network at prices starting from just €22.99 fares. These “all in” low fares must be booked on www.ryanair.com
before midnight (24:00hrs) Thur, 6 June.
Ryanair’s Maria Macken said: “Ryanair was delighted to welcome a full flight of passengers on board its inaugural flight from Shannon to Alicante. This twice weekly service which operates on Wednesdays and Fridays now gives passengers in the South West a choice of five Spanish destinations from Shannon this summer including Malaga, Palma and Lanzarote.
To celebrate our new route, we’re launching a 100,000 seat sale, at prices starting from just €22.99 for travel in June & July. These seats are only available until midnight (24:00hrs) Thursday (6 June) and at these mad prices are sure to be snapped up fast, so we urge passengers to book them on www.ryanair.com before they sell out.”
Shannon Airport Chairman Rose Hynes said: “We are delighted to see this Alicante service commence today and also that it is full. Alicante and the neighbouring Murcia region are among the most popular European sun holiday destinations for passengers from this region. We are delighted that Ryanair, which this summer is flying to 10 destinations from Shannon, has added the service to its schedule and have no doubt about its continued success.”
