Shannon Airport welcomes Chinese delegation

13 March 2013

Shannon Airport Chairman Rose Hynes today said the visit of a Chinese delegation from Nanjing to Limerick and Shannon Airport is further evidence of the strong and long-existing ties between the region and China.

“We are delighted today to be able to welcome the Nanjing delegation to Shannon.  There’s already a unique relationship going back over decades between this region and China and just over 12 months ago Shannon Airport had the privilege of welcoming then Chinese Vice-President and now Chinese President Xi Jinping to these shores.

“Given the strength of the Chinese economy there are considerable opportunities from a trade and investment perspective for this region. Shannon Airport, with its capacity, international network and land-bank, is a real asset in terms of attracting that investment and this visit today is an excellent opportunity to showcase these strengths to an important delegation.”
